Literate Rope

Speaking into this short length of rope causes it to remember a sentence of up to twenty-five words. When a character throws it down on a flat surface, it twists itself sequentially into the letters of that sentence. If the language in which the phrase was spoken has no written form, the rope simply curls into a circle. Putting a new sentence into the rope erases its previous one. Words do not need to be spoken deliberately into the rope; simply speaking with the rope in hand is enough.
